The training facility tour included a visit to all shop areas and classrooms. They offer classes for Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), rigging, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), blueprint development, math and measuring, gas shop, weld shop, and a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) shop.

Steamfitters Local Union 420 has jurisdiction over all or parts of ten counties in southeastern Pennsylvania for the installation and service of mechanical systems. They service the entire state for gas pipeline distribution. In the area of instrumentation calibration, this “educational local” has jurisdiction over four Northeast states (PA, NJ, DE, and NY).

“This was an eye-opening and extremely educational visit for my classes,” said Meghan Cicchino, EASTERN Welding Instructor. “With welding expertise, there are many successful career routes you can take, and this showed them several important prospects available to them. Thank you to the Steamfitters Local Union 420 for providing this great opportunity.”
