EASTERN Students Win Big at SkillsUSA State Competition

Nineteen students from Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) in Willow Grove competed in their skill areas or with their leadership proficiency at the SkillsUSA State Competitions held April 8, 9 and 10 at the Hershey Convention Center. Students from all over Pennsylvania took part in the competition. Gold medal winners will represent EASTERN at the national-level competitions to be held June 22 – 26 in Kansas
City, Missouri. SkillsUSA is a national student leadership organization that encourages students to be productive individuals in our democratic society, work to their potential, become responsible, be proud of their accomplishments and supportive of their community. Medalists from EASTERN include:

Silver Medal Winners:
Health Knowledge Bowl – EASTERN Allied Health students, Catherine Dieterly, Hatboro-Horsham High School Senior, Margaret Roney, an Abington High School senior, Danielle Spressart, Upper Moreland High School senior, and Aah’Donai Wright, Cheltenham High School senior.

Chapter Display – Luke Gallagher, EASTERN Electrical Technology/Springfield High School junior, Kevin Koerner, EASTERN Commercial Art/Springfield High School senior, and Nicole Peck, EASTERN Commercial Art/Upper Dublin High School junior.

State Wide Officer 2015 -2016:
Katya Ivanovski, EASTERN Culinary Arts/Abington High School junior, has
been selected as 2015 – 2016 State Wide Officer.

Several EASTERN students at the competition were delegates for Katya Ivanovski to assist her in her mission to become elected as State Officer. The student delegates included Olga Stylianou, EASTERN Computer Network Administration/Upper Moreland High School junior, Robin Gabage, EASTERN Commercial Art/Jenkintown High School senior, and Sue Mun, EASTERN Culinary Arts/Upper Dublin High School junior.
