EASTERN Recognized 145 Students at May Awards Ceremony
On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, EASTERN held its annual Awards Night, at Upper Moreland High School. This year, 145 students were recognized with more than $39,975 awarded for academic and technical achievement. EASTERN is grateful to the EASTERN Foundation for their fundraising efforts, and to all EASTERN staff, award sponsors, contributors, advisory committee members, and local businesses for helping EASTERN honor its outstanding students during this unprecedented time.
Several new awards were presented for the first time this year, such as “The Welders Deserve a Scholarship, too” award funded by EASTERN and Springfield Township High School grad, Thomas Mustered; “The Brian Pisch Memorial Award” honoring the memory of Brian Pisch, father of a 2017 EASTERN Automotive Technology/Archbishop Wood High School graduate, RJ Panella.; and “Trevor Hirsch Memorial Award” honoring the memorial of 2016 EASTERN Electrical Technology/Upper Moreland High School graduate, Trevor Hirsch.
“We were so pleased to be able to hold our Awards Night in person to celebrate these outstanding students,” said Dr. Cathleen Plesnarski, EASTERN’s Executive Director. “The awards presentation recognized 145 EASTERN students who have excelled at EASTERN and demonstrated commitment, leadership, and technical skills at EASTERN. We are proud of their accomplishments and proud to be part of their story.”
Student awards are provided by the EASTERN Foundation, and supported by EASTERN staff, our business and industry partners, community organizations, alumni, families of alumni, and individual donors. The purpose of EASTERN’s Foundation is to recognize EASTERN student achievement and success by assisting students as they transition to post-secondary education or directly into the workforce. Our business and industry partners inspired this effort and continue to support it extensively.
