EASTERN Students Win at SkillsUSA State Competition

Twenty-three students from Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) in Willow Grove attended the SkillsUSA State Competition in Hershey, PA from April 6 through April 8, 2022.  There were 13 student competitors and 10 delegates in attendance. Students from all over Pennsylvania took part in the competition. SkillsUSA is a national student leadership organization that encourages students to be productive individuals in our democratic society, work to their potential, become responsible, be proud of their accomplishments and be supportive of their community. Medalists from EASTERN include:

 

Silver Medal Winners

Medical Assistant – Tori Bone, EASTERN Allied Health/Abington Senior High School

Information Technology Service – Tyler Wildgust, EASTERN Networking and Cybersecurity/Upper Dublin High School

 

Bronze Medal Winners

Health Occupations Portfolio – Thomas Rourke, EASTERN Allied Health/Abington Senior High School

Extemporaneous Speaking – Daniel Hayes, EASTERN Networking and Cybersecurity /Cheltenham High School 

 

Scholarship Winners

Tori Bone - $1,500 to Pennsylvania College of Technology

Tyler Wildgust - $1,500 to Pennsylvania College of Technology

Thomas Rourke - $1,000 to Pennsylvania College of Technology

Daniel Hayes - $1,000 to Pennsylvania College of Technology

Isabela McGillis - $750 Rex Wright Scholarship to the school of her choice

“All of our student competitors did an amazing job and deserve to be proud of their accomplishments,” said Dr. Cathleen Plesnarski, EASTERN’s Executive Director.  “We are proud of their drive, determination, and professionalism.  They represented the school extremely well.”
