EASTERN Recognized 196 Students at May Awards Ceremony
On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) held its annual Awards Night at Upper Moreland High School. This year, 196 students were recognized, with $68,000 awarded for academic and technical achievement. EASTERN is grateful to the EASTERN Foundation for its fundraising efforts, as well as to EASTERN staff, award sponsors, contributors, advisory committee members, and local businesses for helping honor EASTERN’s outstanding students.
The auditorium at Upper Moreland High School was filled with EASTERN student award recipients, along with their friends, families, award presenters, and participating school administrators. Dr. Cathleen Plesnarski opened the ceremony by welcoming students, families, and supporters. She was followed by Mrs. Carolyn Riley, EASTERN’s Joint Operating Committee President. Mr. Joe Greb, EASTERN’s Assistant Director, served as master of ceremonies for the event.
“Awards Night is one of the most meaningful celebrations of the year because it shines a spotlight on the dedication, perseverance, and talent of our students,” said Dr. Cathleen Plesnarski. “These awards recognize more than achievement in the classroom and lab — they reflect the commitment our students have made to building successful futures and making a positive impact in their communities.”
Student awards are provided by the EASTERN Foundation and supported by EASTERN staff, business and industry partners, community organizations, alumni, families of alumni, and individual donors. The purpose of the EASTERN Foundation is to recognize EASTERN student achievement and success by assisting students as they transition to post-secondary education or directly into the workforce. EASTERN’s business and industry partners inspired this effort and continue to support it extensively.
