EASTERN and Montgomery County Community College Partner on College Credit Agreement for Protective Services Program

Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) and Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN), signed an articulation agreement, allowing students from EASTERN’s Protective Services program to earn up to 6 credits as part of the MCCC’s College of Criminal Justice A.S. program.

A grade of a B or better in EASTERN’s Protective Services could potentially earn three credits for CJS 100: Introduction to Criminal Justice, and three credits for CJS 240: The Correctional Process. The student will also need to meet additional MCCC criteria, such as certification by the secondary school teacher. The articulation agreement in its entirety can be found on EASTERN’s website at https://www.eastech.org/parents-students/current-students.

Whether you’re interested in working in law enforcement, corrections, court administration or private security or, ultimately, as a lawyer, an associate degree in Criminal Justice from MCCC can help you. In MCCC’s program you'll discover the rewards of public service. For more information, plead visit https://www.mc3.edu/degrees-and-programs/programs/public-and-social-services/criminal-justice.

“Montgomery County Community College has been an outstanding partner to EASTERN,” said Dr. Cathleen Plesnarski, Executive Director of EASTERN. “For many years, we’ve collaborated to provide articulation and dual enrollment credits, giving our students a smooth path to college. It’s exciting to strengthen and expand this partnership with a new articulation agreement specifically for our Protective Services program, creating even more opportunities for our students as they transition to postsecondary education.”

Action, adventure and saving lives! You’ll earn several certifications in EASTERN’s Protective Services program to give you a head start on careers in this field. This two-year half-day class is a multi-disciplined program developed in consultation with a countywide advisory committee of law enforcement, fire science, security professionals and post-secondary institutions. Detailed instruction is provided on leadership, criminal, motor vehicle crash and fire investigation, first responders, security systems, terrorism, firefighting, hazardous materials and emergency communications.
