Admission Requirements

Take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) test and have a total score of 48% (required Math 45%+ and English 45%+) or greater.  You will receive your test results the same day of testing in ATI’s “My Results” tab.  When testing at EASTERN, your test score is good for 2 years.  Visit our website for test dates and register for the TEAS test:  https://eastern.coursestorm.com/course/teas-test  The cost to test is $75.00+.  This is a non-refundable fee, paid with a credit or debit card online.  After registering, additional instructions will be sent to you.

All applicants test remotely, using their own computer or laptop and in their home.  No work, school or library computers are allowed.  Testing is through Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) Testing and Proctorio.  You need to have specific technical requirements with a good internet connection for testing.

We STRONGLY suggest that you purchase the ATI TEAS Study Guide 2026-2027, 7th Edition, through ATI, Amazon, Google, etc.  The study guide is an extremely helpful resource.  You can purchase the Guide here:  https://www.atitesting.com/teas/study-manual

After passing the TEAS test, you will receive all required forms by email.

Official Transcripts  (sent directly to EASTERN)

• High School (send directly to EASTERN Practical Nursing)

• Out-of-state GED:  requires a Certificate of Preliminary Education (CPE)

• If applicable, if you have taken College A&P I & II with a C+ and within the last 3 years, you may be exempt from A&P

Essay & Math Quiz - Once all Step 2 documents are received in the Admission office, you will be scheduled for in person testing at the school.

Additional Documents to Support Your Application (must be included with Application forms)

• Two Letters of Recommendation  (Professional or Personal; must describe work ethic or academic ability)
• Proof of Health Care Experience  (CNA, Home Health Aide, Medical Assistant, Allied Health, etc.)

Applicants who complete Step 2 and meet the minimum pre-admission rubric score will receive CONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE into the program and will be invited to proceed to Step 3.

Clearances (dated within 6 months of class start date)

• PA Child Abuse History Clearance (official)
• PA State Criminal Background Check (official)
• FBI Criminal History Report (unofficial copy acceptable)

Applicants with records are reviewed individually.

Medical Documents

• Medical Form (completed and signed by physician)
• Immunization Records
• COVID-19 Vaccination Verification
• Flu Shot Verification for 2026–2027

• Return signed acceptance letter and pay the $750 Tuition Deposit (non-refundable; required even if applying for financial aid)

We have a rolling enrollment process and accept 40 applicants per program.  Your completed documents will be reviewed by the Admissions team once all Steps (1-4) have been completed.

• Completion of ATI Launch (begins 6 weeks prior to the start of class)
• Attendance at the Orientation meeting held 4 weeks prior to the start of class.
• Completed 10-Panel Drug Screening (within 30 days of class start date, bring verification to Orientation)
• Students must have access to a computer/laptop, internet, and printer.
