Kevin Finegan was selected as the Computer Network Administration Instructor at EASTERN starting in August 2018. As a 1999 alumnus of the Computer Network Administration program and Bishop McDevitt High School, he has enjoyed a successful career in the technology industry while pursuing many industry certifications.
Mr. Finegan has expertise in networking technologies, including installing, configuring, and maintaining all facets of the network. He comes to EASTERN as a Senior Systems Engineer from a King of Prussia-based company that provides clinical trial payment solutions. He holds an associate degree from Montgomery County Community College in PC / LAN Networking, and industry-standard certification in many areas, including Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, Microsoft Certified Professional, and Novell CNA.
“I am very excited to be coming back to EASTERN as an instructor,” said Mr. Finegan. “I now have a chance to teach and inspire the next generation of technology enthusiasts. For me, EASTERN was the start of my career planning and the first step on my path to success in the computer networking industry.”
Computer Network Administration students use the latest technologies, and learn to install, configure, and support an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet systems. Students must pass the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) in the first year of the program and are prepared for other industry certification exams in Microsoft Server and Linux.
