Dear Students, Parents, and Community Members,
Today was the start of week 2 of EASTERN’s Continuity of Education Plan. We made some minor revisions to our plan so that it is more aligned to the guidance given by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Changes include the following:
- Statement of the goal of the plan to clearly communicate that learning taking place is new learning aligned to the career objectives of our programs and learning takes place asynchronous, meaning students can complete assignments and access learning when their schedule permits.
- Inclusion of best practices for staff in delivering online learning.
- Update to the close of the third marking period and start of the fourth marking period and changes in grading formulas since hands-on tasks are not an option with online learning.
- A statement of our intent to provide access and appropriate education to all students and how students with special needs can get assistance.
Thank you again for your support during these unprecedented times. I hope this message finds everyone healthy and safe.
