EASTERN Students Win at SkillsUSA State Competition

Twenty-four students from Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) in Willow Grove competed in their skill areas or with their leadership proficiency at the SkillsUSA State Competitions held April 10, 11 and 12 at the Hershey Convention Center. Students from all over Pennsylvania took part in the competition. SkillsUSA is a national student leadership organization that encourages students to be productive individuals in our democratic society, work to their potential, become responsible, be proud of their accomplishments and supportive of their community.

Medalists from EASTERN include:

Gold Medal Winner – Customer Service – Cassie Lynch, EASTERN Veterinary Science/Jenkintown senior.

Silver Medal Winners – Advertising Design – Grace Alderman, EASTERN Commercial Art/Springfield Township senior.

Esthetics – Hannah Sebenick, EASTERN Cosmetology/Springfield Township senior.

Bronze Medal Winners – Health Knowledge Bowl – Allied Health seniors, Charles Slick, Hatboro-Horsham, Tristan Osborne, Jenkintown, Margaret Farr, Jenkintown, and Catherine Leighton, Upper Moreland.

Opening and Closing Ceremonies – Shane Taggart, Electrical Technology/Upper Dublin senior, Joanne Scott, Commercial Art/Hatboro-Horsham senior, Rowan Klotzbach, Veterinary Science/Hatboro-Horsham senior, Karis Hudson, Veterinary Science/Hatboro-Horsham junior, Nicole Sherwood, Cosmetology/Hatboro-Horsham junior, Ryan Coughlan, Commercial Art/Springfield Township junior, and Kody Levine, Collision Repair Technology/Lower Moreland junior.
