EASTERN Students Win at Leadership Conference

On November 14-16, 2018, a delegation of 31 Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) SkillsUSA students and three advisors participated in the Annual District 2 Career and Technical Student Organization’s Leadership Conference at the Pocono Manor Resort. Approximately 200 students attended from seven different career and technical centers from surrounding counties. EASTERN students achieved 6 awards for first place, 10 awards for second place and 6 awards for third place.

First Place Winners –

  • Door Sign – Grace Alderman, Commercial Art/Springfield Township High School senior.
  • Notebook (The Notebook competition is a cumulative notebook of activities including calendar of events, budget, community service activities and membership for each group participating) – Kelly Gibson, Veterinary Science/Abington Senior High School senior; Hannah Listokin, Cosmetology/Abington Senior High School junior; Xavier Johnson, Culinary Arts/Upper Moreland High School senior; Zaire Ruiz, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning/Abington Senior High School junior and Brian Kelly; Commercial Art/Bishop McDevitt High School junior.

Second Place Winners –

  • Two Minute Speech – Janiece Saulsberry, Automotive Technology/Hatboro-Horsham High School junior.
  • Cheer – Grace Alderman, Commercial Art/Springfield Township High School senior, Joanne Scott, Commercial Art/Hatboro-Horsham High School senior, Rowan Klotzbach, Veterinary Science/Hatboro-Horsham High School senior, AnnaMaria Stylianou, Veterinary Science/Upper Moreland High School senior, and Marcus Brooks, Construction Technology/Upper Moreland High School junior.
  • Notebook – AnnaMaria Stylianou, Veterinary Science/Upper Moreland High School senior; Nicole Sherwood, Cosmetology/Hatboro-Horsham High School junior; Marcus Brooks, Construction Technology/Upper Moreland High School junior; and Jarred GraBois, Commercial Art/Lower Moreland High School junior.

Third Place Winners –
