Dr. Volkman met with EASTERN students and staff who showed him the career and technical education classrooms where high schoolers and adult learners receive training in cutting edge industry-aligned programs. He visited EASTERN’s newest program, Veterinary Science, learned some welding techniques in Welding Technology, virtually painted a car in Collision Repair Technology, performed some wiring in Electrical Technology, toured the Commercial Art program’s graphic design, illustration and photo studio areas, and visited the skills lab in the adult continuing education program – Practical Nursing.

“We were honored to be chosen as part of Dr. Volkman’s the Schools That Teach tour,” said Tom Allen, EASTERN’s Executive Director. “Our students take pride in our school and were excited to share some of what they are learning with him. Dr. Volkman’s willingness to jump right in and weld and paint a car made for a fun and memorable visit for our students, instructors and administration.”
