Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) 1977 Cosmetology/Upper Moreland High School graduate, Donna Lanzetta, is the owner and operator of Aerodrome Hair Salon in Hatboro, a high-end salon that has been in Hatboro for 30 years. For the past 20 years it has been located at 127 S. York Rd, Hatboro, PA 19040.
After graduation from EASTERN and Upper Moreland, Lanzetta worked in the cosmetology field for 10 years before opening Aerodrome Hair Salon, while taking advanced certification classes each year in London. She maintains a cosmetology teaching license as a benefit to new employees starting at her salon. There are soft skills beyond the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology licensure that Lanzetta requires before new employees can begin working with clients at Aerodrome. All new employees undergo a one-month probationary period. Once complete they begin an apprenticeship where Lanzetta personally trains them. She also travels with her employees once a year for advanced education to learn new techniques.
“In my experience, the new hires I get from EASTERN are far superior to graduates who come from private cosmetology schools,” said Lanzetta. “EASTERN teaches their students the soft skills necessary to work in a salon, such as professionalism, eye contact, attentiveness to the client, and to put the cell phone away.”
EASTERN’s Cosmetology program will provide the skills necessary to begin a career in the
cosmetology field. In Pennsylvania, as well as other states, cosmetologists and nail technicians must be licensed to practice in the field. For more information on EASTERN’s Cosmetology, please visit www.eastech.org/eastern-programs/cos/.
