EASTERN Says Goodbye to Career & Tech Ed. Supporter, Don Horsfall

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) regretfully says goodbye to long-time career and technical supporter, Donald Horsfall, a computer consultant, who dedicated countless hours to EASTERN programs and technology. Mr. Horsfall passed away March 22, 2020, at Abington-Jefferson Health. Initially admitted due to a fall at home, Mr. Horsfall contracted the coronavirus while in the hospital. The secondary cause of death was complications from the fall. He was gentle and a true gentleman, and will be sorely missed.

Mr. Horsfall and his wife, Carol Ann Casciato, are the owners of International Technical Communications Inc., a computer consulting business, and planned to retire next year. The couple dedicated more than 20 years to EASTERN as members of EASTERN’s Computer Network Administration Program’s Occupational Advisory Committee, and consultants to EASTERN’s Technology Management System’s department.

“We are saddened by the news of Mr. Horsfall’s passing,” said Dr. Cathleen Plesnarski, EASTERN’s Executive Director. “He and his wife, Carol Ann, gave so much of themselves to the betterment of EASTERN and our students. His efforts and dedication to EASTERN is appreciated and will not be forgotten.”

For EASTERN supporters who wish to honor Mr. Horsfall’s memory, Ms. Casciato has requested that donations be made to Society for Science & the Public, an organization that they have supported for a long time, in his honor – www.societyforscience.org/.
