On May 9, 2017, Garrett Boles, Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) Collision Repair Technology and Springfield Township High School senior, was presented with the Springfield Rotary John McCook Memorial Award. This award is named after a past President of the Club, John McCook, who worked in the trades most of his professional life. This award honors outstanding students who excel in academics and in their career and technical program at EASTERN.

Michael Thornton, Rotarian, presented Garrett with a certificate of achievement and monetary award at a luncheon held at EASTERN. Joe Greb, EASTERN’s Assistant Director, thanked the Springfield Rotary for their continued support of EASTERN students and the skilled trades.

“I am very proud of Garrett,” said Steve Parke, EASTERN’s Collision Repair Technology Instructor. “He works hard, achieves outstanding grades, and takes pride in his work. It is great to see him recognized by this amazing organization.”

EASTERN’s Collision Repair Technology program students benefit from a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experience needed to carry out repairs on motor vehicles. Students benefit from the use of Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-Car) enhanced curriculum.
