On May 31, 2018, Emily Dimant, a 2014 Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) Cosmetology and Lower Moreland High School graduate, provided a make-up application demonstration and tips on photographing models for websites and portfolios to EASTERN Cosmetology seniors. Dimant obtained her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia after completing EASTERN’s Cosmetology program and obtaining her Cosmetology license at the age of 18.
Dimant is a published and professionally licensed on-location makeup artist working in Philadelphia and surrounding areas for over 7 years. She is represented by Reinhard Agency and has branded herself as a well-known Philadelphia makeup artist for weddings, photoshoots, publications, and classes. She continues her education every year by training under celebrity and bridal makeup artists and attending regional trade shows.
When Dimant was in 8th grade, she learned about the Cosmetology program at EASTERN. She patiently waited three years before she could enroll as a junior in high school. She knew that nails, makeup, and hair styling were the focus of the Cosmetology program at EASTERN, and she had always had a love for the industry.
Some of Dimant’s notable publications and clients include Philadelphia Inquirer, Independence Blue Cross, Anthropologie, University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Inked Magazine, and Mod Magazine. Samples of her work and contact information can be found on her website – www.makeupbyemilydimant.com.
“It is a pleasure to come back to the place where I began my cosmetology education,” said Dimant. “I leaned a great deal from my EASTERN instructors and the education I received helped me to set a career path and successful future for myself at a young age.”
