Dr. Cathleen Plesnarski was appointed as Executive Director in 2019. Before EASTERN, Dr. Plesnarski served as Assistant Director for Upper Bucks County Technical School since 2011. Prior to her position at Upper Bucks County Technical School, Dr. Plesnarski was an Instructional Coach at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute providing job support to academic and career and technical teachers to improve student achievement. She started her career in education as a Math Teacher at North Montco Technical Career Center. She received her Bachelor of Science from Penn State University’s College of Education, her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lehigh University, and her Doctor of Education from Delaware Valley University. She received the Graduate School Scholar Award for her outstanding scholastic achievement in her doctoral program at Delaware Valley University.
Mr. Joseph Greb was appointed Assistant Director, in 2014. Before EASTERN, he served as Administrative Director at the Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center since 2006. Mr. Greb began his career as a Math Instructor at Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School, where he was appointed Assistant Principal in 2001. He served as Assistant Principal at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology from 2004 – 2006. He received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Kutztown University, Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning from NOVA Southeastern University, Secondary Principal Certification from Penn State University, Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Arcadia University, and Directors certification from Temple University.
Mr. Gerry Rooney was appointed as EASTERN’s Supervisor of Career and Technical Education in 2021. Mr. Rooney came to EASTERN from Bucks County Technical High School where he served as Dean of Students. Before his most recent position at Bucks County Technical High School, he was the Chairperson for Health & Physical Education. Mr. Rooney received his Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Temple University, a Master of Arts in Education from Gratz College, and his Principal Certification from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Rooney was the recipient of Temple University’s Young Alumni Achievement Award in 2011 and many other recognitions for his teaching and leadership.
Ms. Katie Braun was appointed EASTERN’s Business Manager/Board Secretary in 2021. Ms. Braun previously served on EASTERN’s Business and Technology Professional Occupational Advisory Committee. Before EASTERN, she served as Assistant Business Administrator/Board Treasurer for Springfield Township School District. Ms. Braun earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Arcadia University and her Master of Science in Education from Wilkes University.
Mr. Lou Geld was appointed as EASTERN’s Technology Manager in 2018. Before EASTERN, Mr. Geld was the Manager of Information Technology at Benefits Data Trust in Philadelphia. He has also managed his own technology solutions consulting business and worked as an IT manager for the Hatboro-Horsham School district. Mr. Geld received his education in Network Engineering and Data Communications from the Chubb Institute and holds many Microsoft certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, and certifications from Apple as well.
Dr. Kenneth Molczan is a seasoned Nursing Professional with over 30 years of experience across various healthcare sectors. He began his career as a Staff Nurse at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and has since held several key roles. Prior to his appointment as the Practical Nursing Program Coordinator at EASTERN, Dr. Molczan served as the Director of Nursing, Women & Infant Services at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Facility Administrator at Pediatric Specialty Care in Philadelphia, and Clinical Director of Maternal Child Services at Crozer Keystone Medical Center in Upland. His diverse background brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his position.
Mr. Fred Fox was appointed Facilities s Manager in 2021. Before his current position at EASTERN, he was EASTERJN’s Facilities Technician for two years. Prior to EASTERN, he worked for Aramark as a Maintenance Technician at West Windsor Plainsboro School District. He is a 2017 graduate of EASTERN’s Electrical Technology program, where he proved to be an accomplished student, earning Student of the Month and many prestigious awards. While still in high school, Mr. Fox was selected as an Aramark Intern – where he remained for several years until accepting the position at EASTERN. Mr. Fox completed his Electrical Apprenticeship program in May 2022.
Mr. Leon “Rusty” Thurlow was appointed EASTERN’s Continuing Education Coordinator in 2018. Before his current position at EASTERN, Mr. Thurlow was an Adjunct Faculty Member for EASTERN’s Continuing Education Technical Math and Electrical Apprenticeship classes. He is a full-time Math Teacher for the School District of Philadelphia. Mr. Thurlow received his Bachelor of Architecture from Temple University and his Master of Education from Chestnut Hill College.
