Mr. Schaefer
Daniel Schaefer has been selected as the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) Protective Services Instructor, starting the 2022 – 2023 school year. Mr. Schaefer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Eastern University and a Master of Science in Emergency Management from Millersville University. Mr. Schaefer has held various positions throughout the years with the Cheltenham Township Police Department, from Police Officer to Detective, to his most recent position, Police Sergeant.
As Police Sergeant, Mr. Schaefer led, directed, coached, supervised, and evaluated 10 police officers. Among his many responsibilities in that position, he held a leadership and training position in the multi-agency SWAT team. Mr. Schaefer is a Volunteer Firefighter for the Perkiomen Township Fire Company and holds many professional certifications from organizations such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA). He has taught “Civilian Response to Active Shooter” for the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service and is a certified Firearms Instructor for the Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officer Education and Training Commission. Mr. Schaefer has worked with youth as a Boy Scout leader teaching search and rescue, crime prevention, fingerprinting, emergency preparedness, and other emergency skills.
