Summer Program at EASTERN
Willow Grove YMCA is hosting specialty summer camps for 10 - 13 years old's at EASTERN: Design, Photography, and Illustration, and Culinary Arts.
Open House at EASTERN - March 5, 2023
Open House at Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) in Willow Grove is Sunday, March 5 from 1 – 3:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for parents of high school students in Eastern Montgomery County to see how EASTERN can give students a competitive edge in college or in a specialized career program. At the Open House parents and students will learn how EASTERN students can earn college credits while still in high school through dual enrollment and articulation agreements and enjoy learning in a hands-on setting. The Open House also offers an opportunity to hear from EASTERN instructors on the business environment that complements students’ high school academics. Many special activities in EASTERN’s career programs are scheduled.

EASTERN Recognized 171 Students at May Awards Ceremony
On Wednesday, May 24, 2023, EASTERN held its annual Awards Night, at Upper Moreland High School. This year, 171 students were recognized with $47,220 awarded for academic and technical achievement. EASTERN is grateful to the EASTERN Foundation for their fundraising efforts, and to all EASTERN staff, award sponsors, contributors, advisory committee members, and local businesses for helping EASTERN honor its outstanding students.
Outstanding Career and Technical Students recognized as new inductees in the National Technical Honor Society
Outstanding Career and Technical Students at Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) were honored on May 10, 2023, as the newest inductees into the National Technical Honor Society, the honor society for Career & Technical Education (CTE). Twenty students were inducted for membership based on their skill development and academic achievement in their Career & Technical courses.
EASTERN Students Win at SkillsUSA State Competition
Twenty-four students from Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) in Willow Grove attended the SkillsUSA State Competition in Hershey, PA from April 12 through April 14, 2023. Students from all over Pennsylvania took part in the competition. SkillsUSA is a national student leadership organization that encourages students to be productive individuals in our democratic society, work to their potential, become responsible, be proud of their accomplishments and be supportive of their community.
National Women’s History Month Alumna Spotlight: Betsy Herczeg, Allied Health
March is National Women’s History Month. EASTERN is celebrating by spotlighting several of our successful female students and alum. Today’s alum spotlight features Betsy Herczeg, a 2022 EASTERN Allied Health/Springfield Township High School graduate, who is continuing her education in nursing at Thomas Jefferson University.
National Women’s History Month Student Spotlight: Jane Rickards, Robotics and Automated Technology
March is National Women’s History Month. EASTERN is celebrating by spotlighting several of our successful female students and alum. Today’s student spotlight features Jane Rickards, an EASTERN Robotics and Automated Technology/Abington Senior High School junior, who chose the Robotics and Automated Technology program because she has always been fascinated with building and engineering, starting as a child with her Lego set.
