Be sure a career in a health field is for you! Take Allied Health!

This one-year, half-day, senior-only program is designed for high school seniors who plan to continue their education in college to prepare for a career in the health field. Students will get extensive clinical experiences partnering with health professionals at Abington Memorial Hospital and earn three college credits from Montgomery County Community College.

Career Objectives:
A career in the allied heath field requiring post-secondary education.

Prerequisites:
Algebra I and II, Biology and Chemistry (college prep level)
High school GPA of 2.5 or higher preferred
Physical exam and police check as mandated by state law

With Higher Education:
This program prepares the student for success in such career fields as nursing, radiation therapy or technology, cardiovascular and respiratory technology, physician's assistant, and nurse practitioner.

Students have continued their education at:
Abington Dixon School of Nursing, Arcadia, BCCC, Cedar Crest College, Frankford Hospital of Nursing, MCCC, Gwynedd Mercy College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Jefferson University Hospital, Temple University, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania School of Radiology Technology.

Honors Course:
The following participating districts have recognized this program as an "honors" weighted course: Hatboro-Horsham, Springfield, Upper Dublin, Cheltenham, Jenkintown, and Upper Moreland.
